സ്മൃതി ഇറാനിയും മഹിഷാസുരവധവും

ഹൈദരാബാദ് കേന്ദ്രസർവ്വകലാശാല, ജവഹർലാൽ നെഹ്രു യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിൽ അടുത്തയിടെ ഉണ്ടായ വിദ്യാർത്ഥി സമരങ്ങളും ദേശവിരുദ്ധമായ പ്രവർത്തകളും ഏറെ ചർച്ചാവിഷയം ആയിരിക്കുകയാണല്ലൊ. ഈ വിഷയങ്ങൾ പാർലമെന്റിൽ ചർച്ചചെയ്യപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്തു. ചർച്ചകൾക്ക് മറുപടി പറഞ്ഞ കേന്ദ്രമന്ത്രി സ്മൃതി ഇറാനിയുടെ പ്രസംഗത്തിലെ ഒരു ഭാഗം വളരെ തെറ്റായ രീതിയിൽ പലരും വിശദീകരിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു. മഹിഷാസുരനെ ആരാധിക്കുന്നത് ദേശദ്രോഹം ആണെന്ന് സ്മൃതി ഇറാനി പറഞ്ഞതായാണ് ചിലർ പ്രചരിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്. എന്താണ് അവർ പറഞ്ഞത്? ഏത് സാഹചര്യത്തിൽ ആണ് അവർ പറഞ്ഞത് എന്ന് പരിശോധിക്കുന്നത് നല്ലതാവും എന്ന് കരുതുന്നു.

മുകളിലെ വീഡിയോവിൽ സ്മൃതി ഇറാനി ലോക് സഭയിൽ നടത്തിയ അൻപതു മിനിറ്റിനടുത്ത് ദൈർഘ്യമുള്ള പ്രസംഗം ആണ്. ഇതിന്റെ 29:30 മുതലാണ് മഹിഷാസുരനിലേയ്ക്കുള്ള പരാമർശം ആരംഭിക്കുന്നത്. ആ പ്രസംഗത്തിൽ നിന്നും

On the 9th night this transpires in the campus, and on the 10th this pamphlet is stuck all across with signatures.

It says - "The public meeting was also disrupted for Mahishasur Martyrdom Day."

What is Mahishasur Martyrdom Day, madam speaker? Our government has been accused. I miss today Sugata Bose and Saugata Roy in the House - champions of free speech, because I want to know if they will discuss this particular topic which I am about to enunciate in the House, on the streets of Kolkata. I dare them this.

"Durga Puja is the most controversial racial festival, where a fair-skinned beautiful goddess Durga is depicted brutally killing a dark-skinned native called Mahishasur. Mahishasur, a brave self-respecting leader, tricked into marriage by Aryans. They hired a sex worker called Durga, who enticed Mahishasur into marriage and killed him after nine nights of honeymooning during sleep."

Freedom of speech, ladies and gentleman. Who wants to have this discussion on the streets of Kolkata? I want to know. Will Rahul Gandhi will stand for this freedom. I want to know. For these are the students. What is this depraved mentality? I have no answers for it.

ഇവിടെ വ്യക്തമാണ് മഹിഷാസുരനെ ആരാധിക്കുന്നതല്ല, മറിച്ച് ഹിന്ദു വിശ്വാസം പിന്തുടരുന്ന, നിരവധി ആളുകൾ ദൈവമായി ആരാധിക്കുന്ന ദുർഗാ ഭഗവതിയെ ലൈംഗീക തൊഴിലാളി (sex worker) ആയി അവതരിപ്പിക്കുന്നതാണ് സ്മൃതി ഇറാനി ചൂണ്ടിക്കാണിക്കുന്നത്. അഭിപ്രായസ്വാതന്ത്ര്യത്തിന്റെ പേരുപറഞ്ഞ് ഇത്തരം പ്രചാരണങ്ങളെ പിന്തുണയ്ക്കാൻ തയ്യാറുണ്ടോ എന്നാണ് പ്രതിപക്ഷത്തെ അവർ വെല്ലുവിളിക്കുന്നത്. ദുർഗാ ദേവിയെ ഇങ്ങനെ മോശചിത്രീകരിക്കുന്ന പരിപാടി തടസ്സപ്പെടുത്തിയതിനെ വിമർശിക്കുകയാണ് കനയ്യ കുമാർ ഉൾപ്പടെയുള്ളവർ ചെയ്യുന്നതെന്നും സ്മൃതി ഇറാനി പറയുന്നു. 

ഈ വിഷയത്തിൽ സ്മൃതി ഇറാനി ആണ് ശരി എന്നാണ് ഇന്നത്തെ പാർലമെന്റ് നടപടികൾ സൂചിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്. ദുർഗാ ദേവിയെ മോശമായി പരാമർശിക്കുന്ന നോട്ടീസിലെ ഭാഗങ്ങൾ സഭയിൽ അവതരിപ്പിച്ച സ്മൃതി ഇറാനി മാപ്പു പറയണം എന്നും ആ പരാമർശങ്ങൾ സഭാരേഖകളിൽ നിന്നും നീക്കണം എന്നും പ്രതിപക്ഷം ആവശ്യപ്പെടുന്നു. ഇവിടെ ജെ എൻ യു ക്യാമ്പസിലെ നിയമവിരുദ്ധമായ ചില പ്രവർത്തികൾ സഭയുടെ ശ്രദ്ധയിൽ കൊണ്ടുവരുകമാത്രമാണ് സ്മൃതി ഇറാനി ചെയ്തത്. അതിന് അവർ അല്ല മാപ്പ് പറയേണ്ടതും ശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കേണ്ടതും. നിയമവിരുദ്ധമായ പ്രചാരണങ്ങൾ ജെ എൻ യു ക്യാമ്പസിൽ നടത്തിയവരാണ്. നിയമവിരുദ്ധമാകുന്നത് എങ്ങനെ എന്നാണെങ്കിൽ ഇന്ത്യൻ ശിക്ഷാ നിയമത്തിലെ 295 വകുപ്പ (IPC 295, 295A) അനുസരിച്ച് മറ്റൊരാളുടെ മതവികാരങ്ങളെ വ്രണപ്പെടുതത്തുന്ന രീതിയിൽ പ്രസംഗിക്കുന്നതും പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നതും ലേഖനങ്ങൾ തയ്യാറാക്കുന്നതും എല്ലാം കുറ്റകരമാണ്. അതു കൊണ്ടാണ്ട് സനൽ ഇടമറുക ഫിൻലാൻറ്റിൽ കഴിഞ്ഞ മൂന്നു വർഷമായി നിർബന്ധിത പ്രവാസം അനുഭവിക്കുന്നത്, അതുകൊണ്ടാണ് ഉത്തർ പ്രദേശിൽ കമലേഷ് തിവാരി ജയിലിൽ കിടക്കേണ്ടി വന്നത്.
